Ronture's Blog| My journey discovering Rusky Rusk (Part 1) |
|---|
Ha ha, fellas! I'm back and have my laptop, so I can fix the problems I had from before! I went on a 24-day cross country trip and saw stuff like the Grand Canyon, Mount Rushmore, Horseshoe Bend, and more... you probably get the point. But I'm back! How lovely! But enough of me; I'd like to tell my story about discovering the former Russian DJ Rusky Rusk. I was listening to TheRatNest June 2013 when I found interest in one of the featured tracks. I thought to myself that when I could, I would view what song it was on its tracklist. I tried searching for a Rusky Rusk on Soundcloud; I didn't find their official profile. I tried searching for the song... and there was only one good result from Google. And it was a YouTube video from FractureBox. Great! If all was lost, I could listen to that video. After multiple hours (collectively from multiple sessions of searching) trying to find a legitimate download link for "Sugar Free", all I found were released songs like "Happy Pooh", "Fine Time", "Rukkola", "Coneboy", "Woo", "Chudo", and so much more... but alas, there was no "Sugar Free". The song was released some time during 2013; that's for sure. I found a Last.FM profile for his music. It had the song "Sugar Free" listed on there! (insert happy expression here), I found a reference to the song! And it had a download button! ![]() Lo and behold! It isn't on iTunes, eBay, or Amazon. Check Spotify! No "Sugar Free". Search "Rusky Rusk" "Topic" on YouTube! No "Sugar Free". I check the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine for any remnants of this man and there were some! ![]() ![]() Well, that's all for part 1. It has been an entire month since I've started this post (July 6, 2021) and I've been neglecting my good old blog section for a while and I'm sorry. I was so pressured to make this a complete story post, but perhaps that will come later. Adios, peeps. |
