Ronture's Blog| Waking Up Early |

Oh... I used to wake up at 8 or 9 when I was younger. It's no surprise that some teenagers go to bed long after they were told to. It happens to the best of us. When I was a kid, I used to wake up around 8 or 9 AM. Has this happened to anyone else? I don't know if it's that our bodies are developing that our "biological clocks" are operating differently, or that we are privileged to have electronics and they aren't taken away from us at night. I remember a time last summer when I would go to bed at 8 PM and wake up at 7 AM! I wanted to make myself a newer healthy schedule for my life, but that didn't work out very well (I had an all-or-nothing mindset at the time). But what happened to getting up early? Yes, I know, you parents out there are probably frustrated with your children's screen time... (you're probably reading this on your phone/computer and I'm composing it on a text editor on my laptop) but we're in a social health situation right now, and keeping your kids physically social (play-dates, school, etc.) is NOT recommended. I like to talk to people online! Sorry, getting off-topic... My point is, if you're worried that screen time might affect their bedtime schedule, start focusing on getting them to bed early! Kids, if you're reading this, I disobey my parents too sometimes, but don't do it. I don't endorse any such thing (except to those whose parents abuse their children). If you are told to go to bed, then do it. However, you don't need to go to sleep unless they tell you to... ;) The time as of composing this is 07:49 AM EST right now. My sister's either sleeping or listening to a local radio station to the left of me and I'm on the couch. I just recently turned off the kitchen light. When I waking up early after you haven't done it in a long timeand I'm not tired, I feel FANTASTIC! I LOVE watching the sun rise and I love all of this new time to myself that I have. Here's where the issue lies: "What do I do during this extra time?" Go play Solitaire. Go watch TV. Do something before you get bored. Speaking of being bored, I'm going to close this blog post because I have no hope for its succession. I woke up early today because I wanted to socialize with someone early today. I didn't get to and now I'm typing in WordPad about how I can't. I have mostly A's and B's now and I'm mostly caught up on my work! I'm excited to get my computer back. It might be a while though...
